What is Nia?
Nia was created in 1983 by Debbie and Carlos Rosas, at the time based in the San Francisco area. A Holistic Movement practice which combines classic movement forms from Martial Arts, Dance Arts and the Healing Arts.
Nia encourages you to focus on finding ease and comfort whilst we move to music, shifting body weight to effectively provide conditioning as well as the multifaceted benefits of mindful movement. Nia is great fun and provides a wealth of health benefits in each hour long session.
Choosing to move, guided by sensation, has vastly improved my health and wellbeing on many levels.
Conscious, mindful movement helps raise awareness of our whole self, promotes balance, grace, flexibility, and can naturally improve posture.
